The video includes graphic footage of airbag deployment with a rear-facing infant dummy, crash footage illustrating the critical importance of infants riding rear facing, demonstration of benefits of booster seats, and solutions for installation problems due to vehicle incompatibility.

The original video was released in 1978, but it has been updated several times. Produced in 2004, Version VII of "Don't Risk Your Child's Life" demonstrates current technology and best practice recommendations. It was one of the first educational videos to encourage keeping babies rear facing well beyond age one and using a safety seat with a harness for children up to 65 pounds.
